Ukhrul is all gearded up for the third edition of State Level Shirui Lily Festival which will be held from 16 to 19th October 2019. Extreme and Nazareth will also be performing at ShiRock 2019 at Bakshi ground, Ukhrul. Apart from the main events like ShiRock where Extreme and Nazareth will be performing, Miss Shirui Lily and adventures by Chiko at Camp Jorcheng, one new adventurous addition that everyone is eagerly waiting to try out is Paragliding, which is being introduced by a Delhi based company Hornbill Travels.
This will be the first time in Ukhrul where paragliding is being introduced. A week ago, a team of Hornbill Travels along with two experts have surveyed the venue and successful conducted a trial flight. Hornbill Travels is bringing 7 paragliders to give the people a whole new flying experience at the picturisque phangrei.
Talking to TangkhulOnline, Angam Shimrah, the Director of Hornbill Travels informed that the registration for paragliding is open and can be done from their website. As there are limited slots available, a non refundable fee of Rs 300 is being charged as registration fee to book the time slot.
The paragliding is open from 13th October till 21st October. Each day will have three slots timing, Morning from 7:30 am till 10: 30 am, Afternoon from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and Evening slots from 2:30 pm till 4:30 pm.
There will be two types of flight, one for short flight of around 5-7 minutes and is being priced at Rs 2000, while the longer High Fly for around 12-15 minutes will cost Rs 3000/-
