UKHRUL | Jun 6: In a meeting held today by Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) Local Coordination Committee with 44-Ukhrul MLA Alfred Arthur and 45-Chingai MLA Khashim Vashum, decision has been taken to organise the third annual state level Shirui Lily Festival 2019 on October 16-19.
As per information made available to this correspondent, vice president of TNL, Tuisen Kamkara, who is the convenor of TNL Local Coordination Committee, informed that the meeting had proposed the state government for organising the third edition of Shirui Lily Festival 2019 in the month of October.
In the statement presented by the committee, it mentioned that “TNL and state government had entered a MoU on June 10, 2017 whereby giving the mandate to organise local coordination committee. The TNL Local Coordination Committee is formed to facilitate for a better management and ensure positive social and economic outcome”.
The presentation elucidated on objectives, proposed action plan, festival obligation, responsibility sharing, proposed programme items and budgets.
Some of the festival obligations were also discussed including all programme activities of the festival to be closed before 6:00pm including ShiRock concert, no night activities to be organised, no sale of any alcohol, whether, khor, zam, ashaba or any intoxicating drinks will be permitted.
The meeting was also attended by representative from Shirui Village and various organisation of Tangkhul.
