About The Festival
Shirui Lily Festival is Manipur’s premier cultural and ecological celebration, held annually in May to honour the rare and endangered Shirui Lily (Lilium mackliniae), found only in the Shirui Hills of Ukhrul. Organised by the Department of Tourism, the festival promotes sustainable tourism while raising awareness about the botanical and cultural heritage of the region.
The 2025 edition, marking the 75th anniversary of the flower’s discovery, will feature a vibrant five-day celebration from May 20–24, with cultural performances, indigenous sports, art exhibitions, culinary experiences, and thrilling events like SHIROCK music festival, trekking, and the Miss Shirui Lily pageant. Set against the breathtaking landscape of Ukhrul, the festival unites communities and welcomes visitors to discover, celebrate, and experience the spirit of the hills.

The nearest airport is the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport at Imphal, around 83 kilometers away from Ukhrul.
By Road
Daily passenger busses from Imphal to Ukhrul are available from the Inter State Bus Terminus near Khuman Lampak, Imphal.

Nearest railway station is at Dimapur in Nagaland. Regular passenger busses from Dimapur connect Nagaland and Manipur,
